Description
Red mangrove seedlings, Rhizophora mangle, are great for fresh and saltwater aquariums since they help to remove excess nitrates and phosphates from the aquarium. They need light like just like other plants and flowers, but they are very easy to care for since the mangrove seedlings live off of the nitrates and phosphates in your aquarium. They can either be planted in the sand or wedged in between rocks in the aquarium or kept in the refugium. While the majority of the bottom part of the seedling can be submerged under the water, the leaves at the top of the seedling need to be kept out of the water.
The ones that we sell are around 6 to 10 inches in height.
They also have well established clean roots, leaves and have been thriving in saltwater so there should be no trouble getting the to settle and grow in your personal tanks. All Seedlings are grown from propagule floating in the ocean. If you just want propagules ($3.75), just contact us. We will send you a pair of propagules for the price of one seedling.
