Description

Dwarf Cerith Snail (Cerithiidae sp.). Although the Dwarf Cerith snails are very small, they can easily become your favorite cleaners because they can get in to the crevices of rocks where most other cleaners cannot reach. The dwarf cerith snails we sell range in size from 0.5 to 0.75 of an inch and reach a maximum size of about 0.75 of an inch. They eat all types of algaes as well as cyanobacteria, detritus and diatoms. They are nocturnal and are very hardy but sensitive to fast changes of salinity and pH. We ship these snails dry  or mostly dry as they are often found along the shoreline where they only come in to contact with water as tide gets higher.

Make sure that you have a lid on your tank before you order those snails because they can crawl out of your tank. Keep in mind that you want these snails in higher quantities of at least 5 or so per gallon depending on whatever other snails you have in your tank.

Please check out our lot prices for volume discounts. Here is a break down of the individual prices if you order bigger quantities:

50 Lot = $0.16

If you go in store you’ll spend $1.00 minimum to buy (1) snail.

Or, you can buy 10 of these for $1.70. I’ve been watching these things for a few days. If you order the 4 per gallon you’ll be golden. I’ve seen them eat algae, eat up dead brine shrimp, clean off my other snails, etc. Definitely worth the money

Also keep in mind that if you have a bigger tank this company also carries the full sized cerith snails as well 🙂

Great snails. You get more than you ordered and they are a good price. Every tank should have them.
