Description
Masked gobies, Coryphopterus personatus, are small, schooling gobies from Florida that are commonly found around coral heads in deeper water. They are a cool little gobies that do very well in a reef tank. They are a clear pink color and get about an 1.5″ long, but are usually around 1″. At night they disappear into holes in the rocks, but during the day they hover over the rocks and corals and several of them in a tank add a nice reef look to the tank. They are real easy to care for and will readily eat most marine flake food and small pellets. I’ve kept them in my reef tank and they don’t bother any other fish or invertebrates, but because they are small, they may get eaten by bigger fish. If you’ve got a reef tank with just small fish, or a nano tank with smaller fish, these guys will be a great addition. Because of their small size, you may receive fish which maybe .5 inch or bigger.

These little guys are quite entertaining as they sort of hop around the bottom of the aquarium. They arrived a bit pale but immediately settled in and became brightly striped. Had originally ordered 6 and had to order another 6 because they are so gosh darn cute. The 12 of them are always together.

These are perfect nano fish! They are pretty and stay out in the open in the water column (which is rare for fish appropriate for nanos). I highly recommend these cute fish!

Awesome fish. I ordered two but got three. Very interesting fish. They fought for like a week and suddenly, they calmed down and coexist really well together. One even took a liking to a hole in my live rock and just pokes his head out every once and awhile. So cute.

These are wonderful. I have a group of them in my 215 gallon peaceful Caribbean inspired tank and they stay together and really add a nice touch to the tank. They can eat surprisingly big bits of food considering they’re so small and appear to be easy to take care of.

I got “Flowbie” the goby from Sealifeinc.net in October 2007 and he is still doing great. He is very personable and not shy. You’d think he’d get lost in a 55 gallon aquarium, but in every full tank photo I take, you can pick him out. Here’s a photo of him: http://www.flickr.com/photos/feliciamccaulley/3654306793/

I ordered 2 of these for my nano tank and they’re so cute! They’re much more colorful than the photo with pink, orange, and white on them.

The picture doesn’t show how pretty this little fish is. Nice color and best of all hangs out in open water of tank so you can always see it. Pretty small, so don’t mix with large or aggressive fish.
