Description
Pearly razorfish, Xyrichtys novacula, are mainly found on sandy bottom. They vary in color from pearly white to pastel red, orange, and green. Upon closer examination, however, Pearly razorfish are covered with beautiful opal blue patterning. Like the other razorfish, they actively swim during the day and sleep under the sand bed. Therefore, a thick sand bed is vital for maintaining these fish. Pearly razorfish also have a hardy appetite, readily consuming pelleted foods, frozen foods, or live foods. This being said, they will also eat smaller invertebrates. Pearly razorfish do well with soft and hard corals, and are amiable with other fish. They’d make a great addition to most aquariums.
