Description
Red Flower Anemone, Epicystis crucifer, also called rock anemones or beaded anemones, are a common shallow water anemone found through the Caribbean and Florida Keys. They are often found on rocky protected shoreline’s hence the name rock anemone, but are more aptly called flower anemones because of their bright colors and the often brightly colored mouths. This orange color morph is uncommon and we normally find 5 out of 100. The average size is about 2-3 inches, but they can get as big as 4-5 inches. These anemones are photosynthetic and like intense light. They are reef safe and don’t pose a real danger to most other reef critters (other than seahorses). The tentacles can sting small fish and shrimp, but they are not very effective at capturing small swimming critters. They will eat any small bits of meaty foods given to them, and will even eat pellet food. They are very hardy, and like most anemones, they ship well and can be sent by priority mail during the warmer months.
Some pictures are taken under sunlight and some under actinic T5.

Arrived well packed and two day to Texas without an issue. A beautiful red color. Looks like it has been in the tank all its life. Would buy from again.

This little guy is amazing. Not as big as the other shipped and being a bigger pain in the butt with placement but I think it’s just him! Other rock anemone put himself smack dab in the center view. Hoping this guy makes his way out there as well. Gorgeous coloring! A+++
