Description
Spotfin Butterflyfish – Chaetodon ocellatus, is commonly know as a banded butterfly. The terminal phase of this fish has a black dot on the rear of their dorsal fin. Most butterflyfish are known to be a peaceful fish and get along with most other fish. They do like to pick at corals which makes them not suitable for a reef tank. They do great in the FOWLER tanks though as long as there are no other aggressive fish already in the tank. They can be picky with food choices. In the wild they swim along reefs mostly in pairs. If paired they usually will remain companions for life.
