Description

White Claw hermits, Phimochirus operculatus, are very colorful, active, Caribbean hermit crabs that are not real common on the market.

White claw hermits are algae eaters and will crawl all over the tank picking at algae, much like the scarlet reef hermits do.  In the wild they are often found with other common hermits and scarlet hermits, so they are compatible with them.  They don’t feed on corals, and don’t pick at most other invertebrates, so they are generally considered reef safe.

Little guy looks exactly as depicted. A neat little hermit that I have never seen for sale in a local fishstore. Thanks Ken!
