15lbs of Premium Live Rock – Unreal!

I ordered 15lbs of premium live rock that I had overnight shipped to me in water. I recently got back into the hobby after a decade plus away, and after a lot of research settled on KPA to start seeding my tank. My only complaint is that I wish I ordered more. The rock is beautiful, I got 3 good size pieces that were porous, covered in coralline algae, sponges, tunicates, and more. I didn’t have the means at the time to isolate or cure the rock separately, I simply eyed it for any hitchhikers that I didn’t want and put it right in my tank. There was a massive black bristle star at the bottom of the bag, a dead (what looked like) Eunice worm, and a tiny pistol shrimp and mithrax crab, both of which went into my tank. 17 days later and my tank has 0 ammonia, nitrates/nitrites are falling fast, and the rock is simply bursting with life. I have feather duster worms popping up everywhere, worms of all types, tons of bristle stars, a couple of crabs (good ones), some snails, and lord knows what else. Each day I find more life as the rock gets acclimated and my tank parameters improve. The one negative hitchhiker I’ve found thus far seems to be a medium sized Eunice worm that I saw dangling out of the rock on day 1 once in the tank, but I’ll deal with that when/if it ever becomes necessary. I can’t wait to order from KPA again and have set up alerts so I can snag more rock when it comes in!
